How can I secure my coop against strong winds?Updated 2 months ago

Our coops are designed to hold up well in windy conditions. For added stability, we recommend securing the coop to the ground using U-stakes, which can be found at most local hardware stores.

You can also opt for our Predator Protection Kit, which includes 30 U-stakes and protects against digging predators.

If you live in an especially windy area, you may also consider:

  • Planting shrubs

  • Using hay bales

  • Adding pampas grass or similar natural wind barriers

Natural windbreaks can help reduce direct wind impact on the coop. Just be sure the area remains dry and well-drained, as soggy ground can affect long-term stability.

A little extra anchoring and thoughtful placement go a long way in keeping your coop secure and your flock comfortable.
