How do I maintain my Chicken Coop over timeUpdated 5 months ago

The best way to maintain your coop over time is to keep it stained  or painted and protected from the weather. We offer a color-matching stain that you can buy on our website and pick up at your local Sherwin-Williams. It's an exact color match, and you'll save 10% off the retail price.

It's a great idea to do an annual inspection of your coop, focusing on maintaining it to ensure its longevity. We do this each year in the Fall, so we know we are all set for the winter, but you may want to do it twice a year depending on what you feel it needs based on your environment.

This can be as simple as tightening screws and adding a layer of stain or paint. It can be as in-depth as adding or replacing a piece of wood, adding a bead of caulking on a seam, adding wood glue to screw holes, then tightening the wood, predrilling additional spots, and adding screws for additional coop security. These suggestions have helped so many other families get many many years out of their coop.

We also offer replacement parts if you have a part that is wearing down or needs to be replaced. Just reach out to us at [email protected]
