About our hatchery & seasonalityUpdated a month ago
Your chicks are hatched and cared for by a family that has been hatching poultry for four generations. With extensive grading to meet the American Standard of Poultry, proprietary packing methods, and decades of hands-on experience, their practices are built on consistency, care, and precision.
From our family to yours, we are proud to work with partners who bring generational knowledge and craftsmanship to every hatch.
Why we don't sell year-round
Chickens naturally lay fewer eggs during the colder, darker months of fall and winter. Some breeds stop laying entirely during this time. Fertility rates are also typically lower, which means fewer chicks hatch overall.
In addition, hens molt in the fall and winter as they regrow feathers for the coming year. During molting, even strong laying breeds may reduce production or pause laying altogether.
As a result, breed availability is more limited during these seasons.
Cold weather also makes shipping more challenging. We prioritize the safe delivery of healthy chicks, and seasonal adjustments help ensure the best possible start for your flock.
